Material & Care

We select a variety of materials to give you the best selection at a range of prices:

1) Gold (Hypo-allergic)
Our gold collections are made from solid 14k or 18k gold. Contrasting its plated or filled counterparts, solid gold does not change color or appearance over time. You can wear them on a daily basis, even in showers, but like any precious metal, may scratch. You can also wipe your piece clean with the Onliest Cloth if it gets dirty!

Gold jewelry will have markings to indicate its purity: 24k/999, 18k/750, 14k/583 or 585. Sometimes these markings will begin or end with 'G' or 'Au' to symbolize gold.

2) Gold Filled (Hypo-allergic)
Gold-filled jewelry composed of a solid layer of gold (typically constituting at least 5% of the item's total weight) mechanically bonded to a base of either sterling silver or some base metal. These pieces have the same appearance as high carat gold and can be worn daily and in showers. The outer gold layer will not wear off easily, but will, over a long span of time, eventually wear off and expose the base metal. It can be cleaned using mild soap water or with non-whitening toothpaste and soft cloth, make sure to rinse thoroughly with water and dry it completely before storing it in an individual airtight pouch away from the sunlight.

3) Sterling Silver (Hypo-allergic)
Sterling silver contains 92.5 percent of fine silver and 7.5 percent of other metals. It will naturally tarnish but can be cleaned with a soft cloth using mild soap water or with non-whitening toothpaste. Make sure to rinse thoroughly with water and dry it completely before storing it in an individual airtight pouch away from the sunlight. The gold color of the silver plated gold products will eventually wear off over time and expose the base silver. You can polish off all the plated gold and wear the product as plain silver color. Wearing your Sterling Silver jewelry regularly can actually help prevent tarnishing since the oils from your body have a cleaning effect. However, some activities can accelerate tarnishing or even cause corrosion. You should remove your Sterling Silver jewelry before the following:

  • Using household cleaning supplies.
  • Cooking with mustard, onions, eggs, or any other foods that contain sulfer.
  • Sunbathing
  • Swimming
  • Spraying Hairspray
  • Putting on Lotion and Makeup

4) Plated 14k/ 18k Gold (Hypo-allergic)
Some of our silver items are plated with 14k or 18k gold. Kindly note that all plated items will eventually wore off over time and will reveal the solid sterling silver base. In this case, you can use silver cleaning solution to clean it and remove all the gold plating.

If you are looking for items that can stay gold/ rose gold permanently, solid 14k/ 18k gold is the best option.

5) Rhodium (Hypo-allergic)
Rhodium is a precious metal of the platinum family, resistant to corrosion which helps slow down the rate of tarnishing when it is plated onto sterling silver products.

6) Stainless Steel (Hypo-allergic)

Stainless steel jewelry is made of a steel alloy that contains chromium. It does not corrode or rust. It is very durable, but will get scratched and stained if not handled carefully. You can clean stainless steel jewelry with a soft cloth using warm water and soap, and dry the jewelry completely before storing it in an individual airtight pouch away from the sun.

7) Mixed Metals/ Copper
Products made from mixed metals (brass, copper, zinc, and other metal alloys) are up to trend and offered at the most affordable prices. But items made from mixed metals will tarnish and oxidize easily, color will become darker, so it should be treated with care. Avoid contact with water and do not wear them in extreme hot weather to avoid contact with sweat as it will accelerate the oxidization process. Store it in a dry and airtight pouch with no contact with sunlight.

8) Gemstones
Cubic zirconia is a synthesized crystal similar to a diamond with its brilliance and crystal clarity. It is a colorless, hard, and flawless mineral that can be made into different colors.
